Suicide in England and the East Midlands - an updateThis report examines the information and trends in suicide in England and the East Midlands. It revisits a previous report produced by EMPHO in 2005, updates the data and analyses the most recent information. Suicide is a major public health issue; between 4,000 and 5,000 people take their own lives in England every year, there were 333 adult deaths from suicide and injury undetermined in the East Midlands in 2008. The aim of this report is to investigate and analyse suicide data in order to better understand patterns in the East Midlands..
